Christmas Cozies

Every Christmas, I download a bunch of cozy mysteries onto my Kindle. I also check out audiobooks from the library via the Libby app. I fully expect to read them all, but my expectations are rarely realized. I’m not sure why I think I’m going to have the time to indulge in a fantasy world when I’m short on time in the real world. After all, it’s the busiest time of the year. But hope springs eternal.

I researched the newly released holiday mysteries. But most of them were already checked out, so I had to place them on hold…and many are still languishing in the digital stacks on hold. I will have to plan further in advance next year! I stumbled across a blog that recommended some great Christmas cozies: https://gaylenastasi.com/2024/10/18/christmas-cozies-make-great-holiday-reading/ I’m saving the link for future reference. The author wrote the blog last year and updated it this year. Hopefully, she will do the same next year.

Even though the holiday season has ended, I’ll probably still read a few of the seasonal books. It will feel like the holiday season has magically been extended. The remaining titles will be placed on my TBR list for next year. Something to which I can look forward (provided I check them out earlier next time).

I typically listen to the audiobooks when I walk my dog, drive in the car, and putter around the house. And I read my Kindle in the late afternoon when I need to recharge my batteries or the evening when I’m winding down before bedtime. So, I’m plowing through two books simultaneously at any given time. It’s an efficient system, provided I can keep the plotlines straight.

Valentine’s Day is the next big holiday. So, I’m on the hunt for a cozy Valentine’s Day mystery. Any recommendations?
