Spring Break for Writers

I’m a member of Partners in Crime, the San Diego chapter of Sisters in Crime Worldwide (https://sistersincrimesd.com/). I’m also a member of the Grand Canyon Writers chapter of SinC (https://grandcanyonwriters.com/) and serve on their Board of Directors. Fortunately, modern technology has made it possible to participate in chapters that are over five hundred miles apart. Both chapters host educational webinars. SinC Worldwide offers them too (https://www.sistersincrime.org/). So many great classes and so little time!

Grand Canyon Writers will be hosting “Spring Break for Writers” on Saturday, June 20, 2026. It’s an all-day virtual conference jam-packed with informative and insightful speakers. The online event will feature craft sessions presented by award-winning best-selling authors, including Ellen Byron, Hallie Ephron, Karen Odden, Heather Weidner, and Simon Wood. And industry experts will provide pertinent inside information. There is an Early Bird discount, with registration prices steadily increasing. Early registration provides the biggest bang for your buck. (https://grandcanyonwriters.com/spring-break-for-writers-conference-2026/). Hope to see you there!

Grand Canyon Writers also hosts monthly chapter meetings and quarterly evening firesides to help authors hone their writing craft. And GCW’s Mysteries and More Marketing Network offers monthly meetings about the business of writing. GCW hosts special events and networking opportunities as well.

The Sisters in Crime Grand Canyon Writers chapter welcomes both published and aspiring authors, writers in all stages of their careers and all genres. “Although you write alone, you don’t have to be alone. We are dedicated to the success of our members, offering education, support, mentorship, camaraderie, information, and connections.”
